Carp fishing holidays in France on the Fighting Dream Complex is carp fishing as it should be! It is not a Holiday lake complex full of bivies but a range of scenic lakes containing some very big carp. They are suited to the carp angler that is looking for a lake complex with freedom to move swims whilst relaxing in a natural environment. Our intention is not too present another commercial fishing holiday complex in France but somewhere that the angler can get away from the pressures of life in unspoilt surroundings and relax on a choice of venues that contain big carp. You can choose which type of lake to fish as each one is different; we have a variety of lakes within the same complex from the natural 45 + acre etang to the 26 acre very well stocked big carp lake. The choice is yours or move between them if you so wish?
Overview of the stock
The stocking level of each lake differs; Franks lake is very well stocked with carp of a large average size! Isle lake has a reasonable head of carp but is more difficult, however it contains a common carp of 68 lb. The Grand Etang was stocked 38 years ago and the first anglers allowed to fish it is the Korda team. At the time of writing very big carp have been seen which we are hesitant to put weights against!
The Korda team are the first carp anglers allowed to fish the big lake as we have only just been granted the night fishing rights (French Bureaucracy) consequently only recently opened it for fishing.
Our lakes contain many big carp, and 40 lb carp are common with some anglers accounting for several during a trip. There are a number of carp over 50 lb with the largest being a pristine fish of 68 lb caught from the lesser pressured Isle lake. Each swim is large enough to hold the biggest of bivies with a number of them being double posts. All swims are well spread ensuring each angler has a large area of water to their front, without the fear of being hemmed in by other carp anglers. In fact the lake with the most pressure is Franks lake, even then there are only 10 swims on the lake and only 10 anglers allowed at any one time. That equates to a minimum of over 2.5 acres of lake per angler if the lake is full, which is rare!
No nuisance species present, no stupid rules only rules that any carp angler should maintain.

Overview of the lakes
Lake 1 - Franks Lake – 26 acres
Franks lake is 26 acres in size and contains many carp, with a good number of 40s ! The carp within our scenic French lakes are renowned for gaining up to 10 lb in weight per year. During the 2005 season no less than 7 different carp were landed above 55 lb with 3 just under 60 lb.
Lake 2 – Grand etang – over 45 acres
For over 20 years this lake has been a nature reserve where many big carp have been seen but no fishing has been allowed until now! This year we have managed to attain permission to allow night fishing. So who knows what surprises this lake will throw up, we have seen a number of carp which were estimated at over 50 lbs with some of them said to be bigger! We are hesitant to place a weight on the biggest fish, we are looking forward to uncovering some of its secrets as the season unfolds. It is a large scenic typical French carp lake and is suited to those looking for some where that is a little wilder than the typical holiday commercial lakes that are so common in France.

Isle lake – 10 acres
This lake lies close to Franks lake and although it is the smallest it has produced the biggest fish at just over 68 lbs! It is not as heavily stocked as Franks lake but does contain some surprises, may be the upper 60 will break 70 lbs this year? Maybe there are some more uncaught big carp? Feel free to fish this lake or move onto it mid session?

The fighting dream team do not purchase stolen fish and the onsite manager Frank is well known in France for fighting against the illegal traffic of carp, we are proud to state that all of the fish in our lakes are natural or have been purchased from legitimate fish farmers. We are all members of ECHO and CAMOU and proud of it!
